My name is Katherine Mabbs and I created this site for my HIS 460: History of Rock and Roll course. To create this project I wanted to do something with the British Invasion, I came up with the idea to compare and contrast the Beatles and the Rolling Stones first US tours using a timeline and analysis from old newspaper articles. To do this I looked up the original tour dates and locations for both bands and then began to embed them into a timeline with links to images and videos that were connected. Once the timelines were created I looked up the original tour set lists for each band to compare the musical influences of both of these groups. I then used an archive of newspapers to look up old articles from when each band went on tour to see how people in the US viewed each band.
